5 min w AI, pattern prediction

In January, I set a goal to spend 5 minutes a day with AI.

Since then, I can confidently say I have used AI on nearly every single day. And a majority of them for > 1 hour.

It has been a lot of fun. And I have learned a ton.

Last night, I had 5 minutes before bed. So I went to Claude.

I wasn’t sure what Claude was going to give me tonight. I wondered if there would be any repeats, exercises that Claude had previously suggested.

Tonight, it was something new, something unexpected.

I was impressed. This was a great exercise — it was the first one where Claude offered insight into how LLMs learn to recognize patterns.

So I continued.

Red Fish, Blue Fish
Happy Cat, Sad Cat
Bright Sun, Dark ____

Another? Let’s keep going!

Painter uses Brush
Writer uses Pen
Chef uses ___

The answer is here not as straightforward.

Painters paint with brushes.
Writers write with pens.
Chefs chef with all sorts of things!

Was there one right answer here? Because I can think of a dozen things chefs chef with.

I once worked in a finish-dining Italian restaurant, where the chef finished a lot of our dishes in a pan. So in honor of Chef:

Phew, I passed!

And, Claude slipped in one more example.

Emoji! I love a good emoji. Great example!

I went to bed at that point feeling satisfied – I got in my 5 min w AI (+ several hours!)
